Dad with Locked In Syndrome

This is my dad. His name is Richard Salazar.  He's 57 years old.  On April 11th he suffered a massive ischemic stroke in his brainstem.  They were able to remove it, however, after the surgery he suffered another stroke in the brainstem. The doctors informed us that he has Locked In Syndrome and the chances of him ever being the same are unlikely.  He has full function of his brain, so he can hear, see us, blink and move his eyes.  But he is paralyzed from the eyes down.  The doctors have told us that he will most likely need around the clock care for the rest of his life and that he will never be the same again.   But we aren't so quick to make that call.  We want to give him a chance to live, and hopefully recover!   So we are being patient and holding onto hope and giving him time.


My dad was is a  hard-working man that only wants whats best for his family.  He would work 7 days a week, with no vacation to do everything he could to provide. He was the type to drop everything to help you if you needed it.  You can see in his eyes that he is scared that we are going to give up on him.  We're never going to give up hope!


Unfortunately, due to financial constrants, my dad does not have insurance.  The burden has been placed on my mom and the rest of the family to pay for this out of pocket.  I'm not sure how much it will cost all-together but we need help and anything that you could do to help would be greatly appreciated.  And if anything, please keep my dad in your thoughts and prayers.
