Dad of 3 almost DIED!

Donation protected

My dad, Shawn is the wonderful father of 3 children on the spectrum. He probably would be upset that I'm doing this due to pride. He's a mechanic and dang good one at that. He is used to solving the most of his problems on his own. Recently he had a harrowing journey from a physical, to the E.R., and finally the ICU. It started off about a month ago in early March, where he hurt himself at work and couldn't walk. He decided to rest up and ended up being too I'm immobile. Soon He had trouble walking and going to the bathroom without assistance. This hurt to see, because I've seen the big guy work through crutches and other injuries. So I had a feeling it was something truly awful. Right before the visit to the doctor, he had 3 days of shortness of breath, and other alarming symptoms. Shawn knew something was wrong. He took 20 minutes to get from his room to the car. I was proud of him, because I know that small journey hurt so much. After ferrying him from the physical to the E.R. the doctors, nurses, and staff were on high alert and put him on oxygen immediately. 84% blood oxygen level is considered a medical emergency and he was sitting at 72%. They put him on oxygen immediately. They tried for 20 mins to administer an IV. Just poking and prodding struggling to find a vein. Even in his state, he didn't complain, flinch, or even make a noise. Thank goodness they finally found a vein, so the medical staff could do some more tests. The doctors and staff at the E.R. found him stable enough to move to the ICU in a 25 min ambulance ride. Which Shawn described as bumpy. The test results indicated that in every node of his lungs he had blood clots and some of those clots his heart was beating against. yesterday April 19th of 2024, after Shawn was on blood thinners for a couple days, he had to undergo a procedure. Going through his groin with a camera tube thing they spent hours flushing out clots in his lungs and by his heart. He still has at least 6 days in the ICU and I do not know if they even got all the Clots. I'm doing this GoFundMe, not for medical bills, but since he hasn't worked the last month and may not be able to for a couple of months. I want to get some help for their bills. If you can spare any, id appreciate it. This man is the greatest man I know and my hero. I don't want him even more stressed while he's still recovering. He doesn't even know I'm doing this. Much love to all that decide to help monetarily or through their thoughts and prayers.
