Help Dulce Get Surgery

Dear readers,

My name is Victoria, and I'm fundraising for my dear friend, Dulce Garcia.

Dulce and I are in our last year of undergrad at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln. Over the winter break, Dulce experienced bouts of pain in her abdomen, nausea, hot flashes, and migraines. After weeks of battling this pain, Dulce finally sought help at the on-campus medical center. For students like Dulce, this is often the only option; students get up to five visits covered with student fees, it's on campus, and it's within walking distance.

Yet, they can only do so much.

Dulce needed an ultrasound and was outsourced to the most affordable local clinic, which confirmed that she has gallstones and needs her gallbladder removed ASAP. For students like Dulce, this can be expensive. For students like Dulce, this can interrupt the school year and halt degree progression. For Dulce, this can mean either paying for school or paying for surgery.

And no one's health should come at the compromise of their livelihood.

With these funds, Dulce will be able to get this crucial surgery and complete the last semester of her undergraduate degree.
