Help a Mom of Four Through Emergency Spinal Surgery..

My name is Hannah Angel Ricketts, and I'm a mother of three amazing children, as well as a devoted bonus mom to a daughter I love and support as my own.

For the longest time, I've pushed through severe back pain while working hard to provide for my family. Recently, my condition became much more serious, and I am currently in the hospital after doctors discovered severe compression in my lower spine after being rushed for medical care, its know as cauda equina syndrome. I am now being evaluated by a neurosurgeon and require surgery to prevent permanent damage including damage to my bladder and bowels due to the compression.

As terrifying as the medical situation is, the financial reality is equally overwhelming. I do not currently have health insurance, and doctors are telling me I may need to take significant time away from work to recover. As a parent, the thought of not being able to provide for my children is heartbreaking.

Like many families, we live paycheck to paycheck. Missing work means falling behind on rent, utilities, groceries, transportation, and the everyday expenses that come with raising children. Right now, my focus should be on healing and being present for my family, but instead I'm worried about how we'll make it through the weeks and months ahead.
