Sarah G Needs a Hand....

Donation protected
Dear Friends,

We are writing to ask for your help in supporting our sister, Sarah. Usually, she weathers all storms herself like a champ, and handles every set-back without needing to reach out. However, this time is different because she suffered a nasty injury to her hand, which was compounded by many other events in the previous few months. We are hoping you can lend her a hand (HEYO!) to help get her back on her feet (well, back on her hands? You get the idea…)

A quick example of what she's faced recently:

  • November: Invited to participate in the World Cyclocross Championships, but... got the flu and Mono and didn't get to attend
  • December: Out of work for 6 weeks, lived off savings and help from family
  • January 3rd: Returned to work after recovering from Mono
  • January 10th: Got rear-ended, causing vehicular damage and minor bodily injury
And THEN...
  • February 11th: Had a skiing accident; her right hand was fractured and put into a cast until surgery (in her words: “Skiing since I was six, the worst injury I've ever had was a black eye!")
  • February 23rd: Received surgery on her hand and a new cast was applied
  • March 2nd: Cast removed, hand put into a splint
  • March 6th: Began light physical therapy
  • March 10th: Sutures from the surgery removed, 12-week road to full recovery begins!

Despite all of these setbacks, Sarah has remained upbeat and optimistic; and of course, with a big smile! She's returned to personal training, albeit to a limited degree (part-time, and can't do much more than cheer her clients on!), and has lost half of her income by not being able to do massage therapy (apparently, functioning hands are important for this vocation??); Moreover, the activities which make her the happiest when feeling down - like biking and skiing - are not possible right now so it's especially difficult; she’ll certainly get caught up on ALL OF THE SHOWS though!

Thankfully her partner, Christopher has been a constant source of support, and her friends and family have helped out where they can as well. And fortunately, she does have insurance, but has hit that "maximum out of pocket" amount we all fear. ($9K in her case).

We're starting this GoFundMe campaign on behalf of our sis to raise funds to help cover bills and medical expenses. Your donation, no matter how small, can make a big difference in her life and provide her with some financial stability during this challenging time.

We believe that Sarah's spirit and determination are contagious, and we are confident that she'll bounce back even stronger than ever; especially with those steel rods and plates in her new Terminator hand! SHE’LL BE BACK (you know the voice to use).

We hope you'll join us in supporting Sarah G during this rocky period; your contribution will not only help her financially, it will also lift her spirits and provide an extra dose of hope and encouragement. Let's show Sarah that her resilience and positivity are an inspiration and that we're here for her when she needs us.

Please consider donating today and sharing this campaign with your friends and family. Thank you for your kindness and generosity.

Sincerely,

Sarah's Loving Family
(and her brothers attempting to make up for the many years we made her play goalkeeper… sorry, Sis!)
