Da Poetry Lounge is a poetry venue at the Greenway Court Theatre, Los Angeles. We have been in operation since 1998 and, since, have grown to be the largest weekly open mic in the country.

The ultimate goal of DPL is to create and continue a communal space for people to be heard. We celebrate poetry in all forms, and welcome all those who are courageous enough to share their stories or are willing to support others that do.

Like many other platforms, organizations and individuals across the globe, we were greatly impacted by Covid-19 and had to limit our programming and transfer our weekly open mic to instagram.
We are grateful that so many of you have stayed in community and others have expanded our community, globally. However, we have to reach out to the same community to help us continue to serve everyone, if you have the means or if you can simply spread the word. 

Our plans for 2021 and after the world reopens include, but aren't limited to: 
> continued weekly open mic
> continued local, national and international poetry slams
> continued slam team and coaching
> workshop expansion
> non-poetry, arts program expansion
> & much more.
