Da Bergamo alla Silicon Valley—Help Me Make it Happen!

Il Sogno

Ciao a tutti! Mi chiamo Davide Finazzi, sono uno studente di ingegneria elettronica di Bergamo (anzi, Chiuduno!) e sono a un passo dal realizzare un sogno che inseguo da anni: immergermi nella Silicon Valley, il cuore dell’innovazione mondiale!

Se mi conoscete, sapete che ho una strana ossessione per i transistor e i semiconduttori (sì, sono quel tipo di persona). Quando ho scoperto che quei piccoli cosi di silicio fanno girare il mondo, mi sono detto: "Io voglio far parte di tutto questo". Questa curiosità mi ha spinto a seguire un percorso che mi ha portato dal Liceo Lussana di Bergamo, dove è nata la mia passione per la scienza e la tecnologia, al Politecnico di Milano, a un Erasmus a Loughborough in Inghilterra, fino alla magistrale al KTH a Stoccolma. Ho lavorato su progetti di elettronica avanzata, da una collaborazione con il CERN di Ginevra, fino alla mia attuale tesi sull’automazione del design fisico per architetture riconfigurabili.

E ora il grande salto: sono stato selezionato tra 700 candidati per la Silicon Valley Fellowship (link, purtroppo solo in inglese, ma si può tradurre con Google Translate, oppure contattandomi per capire meglio!), un programma esclusivo che mi permetterà di:

✅ Visitare aziende come Tesla, Google, Synopsys e Stanford e incontrare ingegneri, ricercatori e imprenditori visionari

✅ Connettermi con investitori, startup e mentori, che potrebbero aprirmi le porte del mio futuro professionale

✅ Ottenere esperienze e consigli diretti da chi lavora nei Big Tech

La Silicon Valley Fellowship è un’esperienza immersiva nel più avanzato ecosistema tecnologico del mondo, pensata per connettere giovani professionisti con Big Tech, il mondo accademico e l’imprenditoria ai massimi livelli. Ha già ispirato e trasformato le carriere di molti, che oggi stanno lasciando il segno nell’industria tecnologica.

Questa non è solo un’esperienza, è il trampolino di lancio verso il mio sogno professionale. La Silicon Valley non è solo un posto, è un mindset, è il luogo dove le idee diventano realtà, dove l’innovazione nasce ogni giorno.

E io voglio esserci.

The Challenge

C’è solo un piccolo problema…

Questa opportunità ha un costo che da studente non posso sostenere da solo. Tra quota di iscrizione, voli e alloggio, il totale arriva a circa 4000€.

Ho già investito per il down payment, ma ho bisogno del vostro aiuto per coprire il resto. Anche solo 1€ può fare la differenza!

Dicono che "il denaro non compra la felicità", ma compra un biglietto per la Silicon Valley, che per me è praticamente la stessa cosa.

Darò supporto e mentorship a chi vuole seguire un percorso simile, offrendo feedback e consigli pratici.

Perché Questa Campagna è Importante?

Questa raccolta fondi non è solo per me.

Spero di poter trasmettere la mia passione e dimostrare che i sogni, con impegno e determinazione, possono diventare realtà.

Voglio che questa campagna non sia solo un’opportunità per me, ma che possa diventare un esempio per altri giovani che sognano di fare esperienze internazionali nel mondo tech.

Se riuscirò a realizzare questo progetto, mi piacerebbe in futuro creare qualcosa che possa aiutare altri studenti a percorrere strade simili, abbattendo barriere economiche e motivando chi ha paura di osare.

The Dream

Hey everyone! My name is Davide Finazzi, I’m an electronics engineering student from Bergamo (well, Chiuduno!) and I’m one step away from achieving a dream I’ve been chasing for years: immersing myself in Silicon Valley, the world’s tech capital!

If you know me, you know I have a strange obsession for transistors and semiconductors (yes, I’m that kind of person). When I first learned that those tiny pieces of silicon power the world, I thought: "I want to be part of this." That curiosity led me on a journey from Liceo Lussana in Bergamo, where my love for science and technology was born, to Politecnico di Milano, then to Loughborough in England for an Erasmus, and finally to KTH in Stockholm for my Master’s. Along the way, I’ve worked on cutting-edge electronics projects, from a collaboration with CERN in Geneva to my current thesis on automating physical design for reconfigurable architectures.

This opportunity comes with a cost that I can’t afford on my own. Between tuition, flights, and accommodation, the total is around €4000.

I’ve already invested to pay the down payment, but I need your help to cover the remaining costs. Even just €1 can make a difference!
