Hoping to raise some money to help the Chestolowski family in their time of need.
Monday morning 911 was called by Steve’s children. Steve was taken to RUH hospital with the original diagnosis of seizures.
CT scan, spinal sample and vascular scans were all completed. At that time it was determined Steve was having a stroke.
Steve has suffered a basilar artery stroke. He underwent emergency thrombectomy surgery to remove the blood clot.
A second emergency surgery was completed later that evening after another CT scan showed Steve had swelling in the brain. The surgeon did posterior decompression surgery and an EVD and ICP monitor was inserted and a portion of his skull on the right side removed to help relieve the pressure from swelling. Monday evening was a rough night with his vitals fluctuating. During the night another CT scan was completed about 1am where after that his vitals seemed to stabilize somewhat.
Multiple CT scans and an MRI have since been completed as a preliminary view to determine the extent of damage done. The imaging shows extreme stroke. The swelling and stroke can continue to progress up to 5 days.
The upcoming days are going to be critical in keeping him stable. He has been put in an induced coma in the ICU to allow his brain to reduce swelling and additional damage.
At this time please pray for Steve.
He needs all of our love to have as much life as he still can. ❤️
