I am raising funds to help my close friend return home safely after being trapped in a horrific situation in Cambodia.
My friend traveled to Cambodia believing he had secured a legitimate English teaching job. Shortly after arriving, he realized the job was a lie and that he had been taken to an online scam compound. His passport and personal documents were confiscated, and he was forced to remain there for over nine months, unable to leave or seek help.
On January 16, Cambodian police conducted a raid on several scam sites. During the chaos, my friend managed to escape with his passport. While this gave him freedom from the compound, it also left him stranded in Phnom Penh, Cambodia’s capital, without financial resources or a safe way to return home.
He is currently staying in a hotel for safety, but this is only a temporary solution. He urgently needs support for:
• Emergency accommodation and food
• Embassy and legal processing fees
• A flight back home
He is a victim of human trafficking and forced labor, and none of this was his fault. Many people around the world are being deceived by fake overseas job offers, and sadly, he became one of them.
Every donation—no matter the amount—will go directly toward helping him get out of danger and back home safely. If you’re unable to donate, sharing this fundraiser would also mean the world to us.
Thank you for your kindness, compassion, and support during this incredibly difficult time.
