Wheels for an angel, Colise Johnson

Donation protected
Hello my amazing neighbors! I am writing because an angel is in need and I need all the help we can get to make this happen. Many of you know Colise Johnson. She runs the GAP food pantry off 86th and Brazee and has done so for the last 23 years, with the help of her husband James.

Colise uses a motorized wheel chair to get around due to her disabilities. She has met many that are not kind to her, but continues to help everyone she can. GAP is a hand up, not a hand out. Colise gives everything she can plus some every single day. She never asks for a thing, but ALWAYS makes sure everyone else is taken care of to the best of her abilities.

Colise is an angel in disguise. Her heart is full of so much love and caring for others. She has given so much to our community over the last 23 years and touched SO many lives. She takes care of all of us and I’m asking everyone to please help with anything they can to help take care of her. We have a goal of $6,500, and from my own personal experience we can do this. The community will come together, I know it. Colise has no insurance to cover this expense. This chair will make such a difference in her life, and therefore many others.

Her current chair has been used to the death basically. There is no head rest, the wheels are so worn that the wire is sticking out of them and they could literally burst at any minute leaving her stranded. Her nephew was amazing and ordered the part she needed to make it work correctly. She just waited 4 months to have that piece arrive to replace so she would not do random wheelies and drive erratically. It was actually the wrong piece, but James and her brother-in-law were able to make it to where she could at least get around without severe worries she would be injured. The chair would literally go wherever it felt like and pop random wheelies which has left her in a difficult spot, but random strangers gifted acts of kindness to make sure she was okay. There is no seat, so she uses a cushion to sit on. It also doesn’t charge unless it is in “the perfect spot”. I was informed today that it is now turning off randomly, so it's literally on its last legs. It is a miracle it is still working, but we all know why.

Please my friends, let us get together and give this gift that she so desperately needs. There will be a booth at the Parkrose Marketplace to help get proceeds and funds to her. Anything from this booth, will give donations towards the chair. Anything helps, even if it cans and bottles or wishful thoughts and prayers.

If anything, let's all put positive energy towards reaching our goal. I hope to see many faces out there being able to get to our goal. There are pictures attached of the current state of the chair. I have faith in everyone that we will find a way to make this happen. If you have any questions, please reach out to me.
