On February 1, 2021 my dear friend, Gina Meyer, lost her husband, best friend, and soul mate. Joe Meyer passed away suddenly at home. Not only did Gina lose her husband, her children Joey and Ella lost their father. Gina and Joe are high school sweethearts who created a beautiful family they were raising in Bridgeport, PA. Anyone who knew Joe, knew he was a family man. His family was his world. You are a lucky person if you knew Joe. His smile was infectious and his personality was one like no other. Joe had this way about him that made you laugh or smile every time you would see him. He lived life to the fullest 100%. Joe was loved by his family, friends, the Conshy Community and especially his Archbishop Kennedy family. Joe definitely lived life with his “Saints Pride”.
Gina is a teacher who has been mentoring students throughout her adult life. She is a strong, amazing woman! More than ever she needs the support of her family and friends. Raising two teenagers is not easy in our times. Life does not prepare us for such tragic events such as this. They have so many amazing family memories to help them get through this. And anyone who knows Gina knows there are many family photos too! Gina and Joe dedicated their life to their children. They enjoyed many trips together and especially enjoyed their summers in Cape May.
Many have asked me “what can I do for Gina?”. First and foremost, Gina, Joey, and Ella need prayers for strength to get through this most difficult time. There are no words to describe the pain and devastation her and the kids are experiencing. Gina was given the task of raising two children without Joe. She was not asked or prepared. No doubt, she will do an extraordinary job! Today, I am asking you to donate to the Meyer Family Fund. Any contribution will be most appreciated. Times like this make us numb and unsure of what to do. It is a complete reminder of how fragile life can be. Giving Gina some financial peace of mind would be very helpful.
