Hi,

I'm Tina, a mother of 3 boys. All 3 are grown and have families of their own. I'm starting this short-term GoFundMe page for one of my sons who has a heart of gold and gives of himself over and over to help others. It is his turn to receive some love and support financially as he was assaulted while walking home one night in October. A man came towards him claiming that his friend was being harassed at the bus station and that Jarrod was the one doing it. Jarrod tried de-escalating the situation by telling him he knew nothing of this friend or the troubles at the bus station, but the man got angrier and pulled a knife on him. At that point, Jarrod was watching this man closely and noticed he was starting to look around as if he had 'buddies' coming to aid this man in the assault, so Jarrod turned to look to see if others were coming, and then the man hit him in the face with, Jarrod's not quite sure... a brass knuckles, the butt of his knife... he doesn't know, but ultimately, whatever he was assaulted with ended up breaking Jarrod's lower jaw in half. A clear through break.

A police report has been filed and after an ER visit, a doctor and oral surgeon visit, it was necessary for Jarrod to have his jaw wired shut for 6 weeks. As many of you know, Jarrod is my 'talker' so this will be a difficult 6 weeks! He can still talk, but with limited use of his jaw.

With all of this happening, he was not allowed to work and has missed out on several weeks of income. Also, the medical bills are coming in, and we all know how insurance today does not cover much. It is with a heartfelt plea that I'm asking for a little love and help financially for Jarrod and his family to help cover medical costs of this unfortunate assault.

Will you please join me and show Jarrod that we care for him and his family at this time?

As a mom, getting that call was heart-wrenching knowing my son was hurting. He did not ask for this help, but I am asking for him and appreciate any help you can give.
