Help save my widow aunt and her children.

Help save my widow aunt and her children.

Dear compassionate community,

Me Meera Albaba urgently reaching out for your support to get my aunt, who’s a been a widow since 2015 raising her four kids on her own as a single mother ever since.

My aunt Ghada Albaba (53 years old) was married in 2003 and moved from Gaza to live in Saudi with her husband. After having 3 beautiful sons and one daughter, her husband tragically passed away in 2015 after struggling with liver cancer.

Prior to her husband death, my aunt was not able to enroll her children in school due to the incredibly high yearly costs of renewing her residency for her and her family that reached over 12,000 USD a year with no fixed income after her husband passing. This is why, my aunt took the decision to move back home with her children in order to be able to enroll in public schools, have healthcare, and work to provide for them, which is something she wasn’t able to do back in Saudi as a Palestinian.

My aunt moved back home to Gaza in 2018 with her children Abood (born in 2005), Kareem (born in 2007), Toleen (born in 2009), and Bader (born in 2011). Ever since moving back home my aunt was able to enroll her children in school and managed to get a job that allowed her to secure a down payment to buy an apartment back in 2022. Unfortunately, their apartment was completely destroyed during the current aggression after being targeted by tanks after the ground invasion of Gaza City.

My aunt and her orphaned children fled their house on October 13th to Al Nuseirat camp where they stayed for few days and then had to flee again few days later to Khan Younis due to the occupation targeting many houses next to them and glass shattering all over the place. They stayed in Khan Younis for a month until the ground invasion of the south where they had to flee again to central Gaza Strip in Albureij Camp. The situation was extremely dangerous but they had no place to go. Few weeks after, the Israeli army invaded the whole area of central Gaza Strip so they fled south but this time to Rafah. Currently there are still in Rafah where they managed to find shelter at a small room on the top of a building. The room is still under constructing with no windows and a small bathroom. Her children keep getting sick due to lack of access to clean water and not eating anything other than canned food. Her youngest child is now suffering from Urethral reflexes as well.

The money will be used to get my aunt and her family safely to Egypt. Currently, Egypt requires Palestinian to pay over 5000 USD for each person to be able to cross the border. The money will be used to get them safely to Egypt and help them secure an apartment for the temporary period until a ceasefire is reached and then they can go back home.

I appeal to you to your kindness to spread this campaign to bring back hope and life for me and my family. We are seeking this road and we feel like we ran out of options and alternatives. We are hopeful still, that we will be able to save my aunt’s family and bring them to safety.
