Prayers for Stella

Donation protected
As many of you may already know, my mother Stella, has been fighting kidney cancer since the spring of 2011. In April of 2011, she had a kidney removed and the doctors thought no further treatment would be needed. Yet, in July 2012 mom started having intense back pain. So we took her back to the doctor and sadly discovered she was in stage IV of renal cell carcinoma. My mom was determined to fight as hard as she could from the very beginning. In August of that same year, she underwent Interleukin 2 inpatient chemo. After several intense treatments the side effects were too much, and the doctors decided it would be best to stop and move on to other types of chemo treatments. Over the past two years she has taken several different forms of chemo pills, but all have proven ineffective. During this time she has also endured several emergency room visits and hospital stays. Despite the great loss of her health, she has still given her family all she could. Throughout this entire ordeal, she has been faithful to God and optimistic for her family despite the great hardships she has faced.

In March of this year she began to have increased abdominal pains. The pain became unbearable, so once again we took her to the emergency room. After several hours of tests the doctors found that she had a tumor in her abdomen. They thought it would be best for her to surgically remove it. The surgery ended up being more than what we initially thought. Instead of a small tumor, the doctors removed a volleyball sized mass from her abdomen. After her surgery it was a long recovery for her. She was weak, but determined to fight and get well. Since then, it seems she has had a rocky road health wise. In her past scan it was seen that the nodule on her liver had grown as well as additional spots as well. Her doctor prescribed her to a weekly infused IV chemo. Overall, she has had a suppressed appetite which has resulted in extreme weakness and weight loss.

Anyone who has experienced the devastation of cancer knows that its effects are not isolated to one’s health. Those fortunate enough to survive cancer are often times faced with the challenge of finding a way to survive the crushing weight of the medical expenses. Due to her inability to meet the demands of daily office work, mom has resigned from her place of employment and is currently waiting for her government disability to begin. This is where I am asking for your help. I’m asking for you to prayerfully consider making a donation that would help reduce the financial burden of my mom and dad. All donations will go towards her medical bills and their monthly expenses. No donation is too small, and we also ask for your continued prayers for her, as well as, our family. I thank you in advance for your thoughts, prayers, and generosity as our family walks through this difficult time.

Sincerely,

Crystal
