On August 01, 2021, the California National Guard community lost a brother. Reuel David S. Aguinaldo, a Master Sergeant who served for more than 20 years, passed away unexpectedly. A leader with unshakable faith and an unparalleled work ethic, those who knew Reuel witnessed how he regularly created a positive impact on the lives of the Soldiers around him.
Reuel is survived by his wife Maria Aguinaldo and their four children. The family is mourning the shocking loss of their head-oh-household, and are not financially equipped to pay the high-cost of a memorial service and a funeral.
Please consider donating money to the Aguinaldo family. Their head-of-household, Reuel, gave so much of himself to his community.
During his over 20 years in the Armed Forces, Reuel made multiple deployments overseas. He served in diverse organizations such as the Detachment 1 Medical Command, 640th Aviation Battalion, 185th Infantry Regiment, 1-144 Field Artillery Regiment and 40th Brigade Support Battalion. He performed duties such as Medical NCO, Retention NCO, Readiness NCO, S3 Operations, and Casualty Notification Officer.
Reuel was more than a leader — he was one of my best friends. The type of person who would always provide guidance, coaching, and mentoring — even if he was stressed and overtasked with work. I wouldn’t be who I am with knowing Master Sergeant Reuel.
He always put the Army first, making sure the mission was met. Most importantly, he ensured his Soldiers were taken care of. He is incredibly missed by family and colleagues. God bless Master Sergeant Aguinaldo.
