I’m Nick, a chef by trade and a storyteller by flavour. For more than three decades I’ve been cooking food that I love and sold hospitality ideas across the UK and beyond. Launching a rustic, chef-driven bifana street food business is the thing I have always dreamed of doing. I’m ready to take everything I love about proper cooking — simple ingredients, honest heat, and a bit of mischief — and serve it from a van that smells of smoke, bread, and garlic.
My Story and Why This Matters
Food has been my compass since I first stood over a hot plate. My career blends hands-on chef work with commercial experience, which means every sandwich will be built with technique, pace, and real heart. This project is about more than pork in bread. It’s a love letter to food that comforts, a celebration of Portuguese flavour, and a way to reclaim the joy of cooking on the go. I want to create a place where busy people find a proper, rustic bite and leave smiling.
The Food and the Experience
We will serve chef-crafted bifanas and Portuguese-inspired street plates built around fresh bread, punchy marinades, and honest smoke. Each dish will be made from locally sourced pork, chicken, seasonal sides, and a few secret sauces.
Why I’m Crowdfunding and What Your Support Pays For
I’m raising funds to buy a well-equipped street food van, fit a small but safe cooking galley, cover initial stock and licences, and produce an opening run of community pop-ups to refine the menu. Your support will directly fund the build, local suppliers, safety certifications, and the first season of trade. Every backer will help turn a lifetime love of food into a moving kitchen that brings real food to streets, festivals, and market days.

This is a chef’s promise: honest cooking, bold flavour, and a van that turns up where people want great food. Help me build this little, rustic dream so we can feed mouths, meet neighbours, and make memories one bifana at a time. Thank you.
