Help Rob Recover After Surgical Error

Hi, my name is Lilly Nevin Broski, and I'm starting this GoFundMe campaign to raise funds for my Dad, Robert Nevin. He went in for a routine thyroidectomy and a major surgical error was made. The nerves to his vocal cords were severed completely on the left side and damaged considerably on the right. The neurosurgeon attempted to sew the nerves back together on the left but only time will tell. He was sent home after a week in the ICU. He was home for 8 hours when his youngest daughter took him to the ER on the vineyard with a very high fever. He was then airlifted back to Mass General for an emergency tracheotomy. This has left him in rough shape. He has zero speech with difficulty eating and drinking as well.

Dad has always been a worker and has always done whatever it takes to support us.

He has been in and out of Mass General in Boston, along with ongoing pneumonia due to aspiration. He has had 4 different surgeries to resize the trach tube. This has been a challenging time for our family, and we're hoping to raise funds to support my dad during his recovery.

Dad is a kind-hearted man who has always been there for his loved ones. He has a great sense of humor, which has only continued throughout this hard time.

The funds raised will go towards supporting Dad’s living expenses, medical expenses, and other costs associated with his recovery. Any donation, no matter how small, would be greatly appreciated. Even just sharing this campaign with your friends and family can make a huge difference.
