ALVIN LOH
Alvin was born and raised in Oakland, California and lived there most of his life until he moved to Los Angeles in June of 2018. Growing up in Oakland, Alvin found himself experiencing hard times in some tough neighborhoods where he lived. Alvin has always been a hard worker and always made sure to make sure his Mom was taken care of. His father passed away from cancer in December of 2000 almost 10 years after he was diagnosed. Alvin became the man of the house after his father’s passing. Alvin was battling depression with the pressure of his father’s passing and eventually losing his job. Alvin began to experiment with drugs to help mask his depression and before he knew it, he could not stop and became addicted and dependent on his drug use to battle his depression. Alvin befriended a co-worker at a new job he found and they became best friends a short while after. His new best friend discovered what Alvin was doing and quickly gave him an ultimatum, quit using drugs or they could no longer be friends. This helped Alvin realize the road he was headed down and his new friendship meant so much to him that he decided to fight his depression without using drugs moving forward. Alvin really enjoyed his new job doing undercover security, he was drug free, and started to come out of his depression slowly day by day. Alvin’s best friend and his family decided they were going to move to Los Angeles and invited Alvin to move with them. Alvin jumped at the opportunity to start a new life in Los Angeles with his best friend. Alvin arrived in Los Angeles in June of 2018 and found a job with a private security agency and then was hired 3months after by the Langham Hotel in Pasadena with their security department. After a couple of years of security experience under his belt, Alvin applied and was hired by Luxury Hotel in Century City as a Guest Safety Ambassador. Due to Alvin’s drug use in the past, it took a toll on his teeth and his teeth began to decay and fall out and also make his remaining teeth very weak and brittle. Alvin decided it was time to fix his teeth and visit a dental office to get an opinion and estimate on how to restore his smile. The estimate for this grueling procedure is 25,000 dollars. Alvin has a full time job, but with the rent here in Los Angeles and his day to day expenses, it is not enough to pay for the procedure he needs and wants.
