My name is Amrutharose Joseph. I am a registered nurse working in Ireland, and I have been working here for the past three years. I came to Ireland in 2023 as a Staff Nurse in a private hospital based in Dublin.
Today, I am reaching out with hope, faith, and trust in the kindness of people like you—to ask for help for someone who means the world to us.
Who is Akhil?
Akhil Joy is not just our friend. He is like a caring brother, a constant source of energy, and a young man full of dreams, talent, and positivity. He has always been known among us for his charm, enthusiasm, and willingness to support others.
We desperately want our Akhil back—the same smiling, energetic, and hopeful young man.
Medical Condition
Akhil is a 24-year-old from Kerala, India, who has been diagnosed with Chronic Kidney Disease (CKD – Stage 5), the most critical stage of kidney failure.
To stay alive, Akhil currently undergoes hemodialysis three times a week. This treatment is not only physically exhausting but also emotionally and financially overwhelming.
He is receiving treatment at Westfort Hospital, Thrissur, Kerala, under the care of
Dr. Jaiju James Chakkola (MD, DM – Nephrology), Consultant Nephrologist.
Doctors have clearly confirmed that a kidney transplant is the only permanent, life-saving solution. In a selfless act of love, Akhil’s father has come forward as the donor.
Family & Financial Struggles
Akhil comes from a financially vulnerable family. Both Akhil and his father were the primary earning members of the household. Due to Akhil’s illness and continuous treatment, the family’s income has been severely affected.
They are now struggling to manage daily living expenses along with mounting medical costs.
Akhil has an 18-year-old younger brother who dreamed of pursuing nursing studies. Sadly, because of the family’s financial crisis, he had to pause his education and is now working as a newspaper delivery agent to support the family.
Akhil also has a younger sister studying in the 6th standard, whose education is at risk due to the current situation.
Treatment Cost
The estimated cost for the kidney transplant and related medical expenses is ₹18,00,000 (18 lakhs INR) (€18000)—an amount far beyond what the family can afford.
We are doing everything possible from our friends’ side and Akhil’s family’s side, but this amount is simply not affordable without help.
Our Promise to You

• Every euro or rupee donated will be used solely for Akhil’s treatment
• The funds will not be misused for any other purpose
• Once the funds are collected, we will share a detailed breakdown of all medical expenses
• If we are blessed to raise more than the required amount, the excess funds will be donated to another patient in need without fail
