My name is Kathy Tipp of Troy MI. My story has been picked up by several news outlets (links below). I want to raise awareness and humbly ask for any assistance you can spare.
I am 73-year old retiree living in Troy, MI. My husband is 85-years old and suffers from dementia. I fell victim to an online scam recently and lost my life savings, roughly $700K.
It's difficult for me to re-enter the workforce given my age and my duty as a caretaker.
I feel foolish, angry and depressed. I never imagined I would be in this position, relying on the generosity of others, but this is where I am at.
Your generosity would be greatly appreciated. In the event the authorities are able to recover any of the money I lost, I intend to reimburse all donors. Realistically though, given my age and the nature of the recovery process, I know it’s unlikely I will ever recover what I lost.
Thank you,
