Baby Michael's Funeral
After nearly 9 months of carrying baby Michael Gerard inside of my womb, our Lord decided that we needed him more in heaven, watching over our family as a Saint.
We arrived at the hospital early on the morning of September 8th, for a scheduled cesarean. Shortly after arriving the nurse, proceeded to attempt to find the baby's heartbeat. When she was not able to locate one a doctor was called in to perform a sonogram. I can't even begin to describe how my heart wrenched in two at the sight I saw on the screen - my beautiful little baby was completely still and the chest cavity was not moving. It was determined that the baby had died in utero.
Of course the c-section had to proceed as planned. After, Michael had been delivered we discovered that there had been a knot in his umbilical cord that had tightened and cut off his supply of oxygen. Our dear sweet baby Michael had died before we could even meet him. Our only consolation is that he is watching over us from heaven and we will one day be reunited with him for eternity.
First and foremost, we ask for your prayers for our family. This has been exceptionally difficult for our entire family. We need prayers most of all.
Second, since Michael was not born alive there is no life insurance to help us cover the expenses for the funeral and burial. We are asking for help so that we can give our little saint the same arrangements that we would make for any member of our family. Any amount that you can share with us will be greatly appreciated.
