Second Time Around…

This Fundraiser is for our Mom, Michele.

Our mom is not one to ask for help, ever. But under these conditions we want to reach out for some support on her behalf.

Our family is going through a very hard time as our mom was just Diagnosed with Breast Cancer over the Holidays. Our mom is already a Cancer Survivor and had Breast Cancer when I was just 2 years old, and my brother was 5. As you could imagine having two young children at the time was very difficult as well as loosing her mother to Colon Cancer two months before my mom was diagnosed the first time. Having to fight for her life and do surgery, rounds of Chemo, as well as having to drive to Toronto everyday for Radiation, she still never gave up and was there for her family. This February was going to mark 20 years Cancer free for her. Our mom just went for her yearly check up and it has shockingly come back.

As many of you know our mom personally, she is hands down the most giving, selfless, positive person we know and would give her shirt off her back for anyone because that is the type of person she is. Our mom does not deserve this especially having to go through all of this twice. After meeting all of her doctors and surgeons the past few weeks, this time around will not be easy. Having it come back for the second time they are not taking it lightly and she will have to go through a very long surgery and be in the hospital for several days. She will also have to go through treatment all over again.

As a Cancer patient, our mom needs to be on a strict healthy diet to give her all the nutrients she needs to keep her strong, as well as supplements, vitamins, and natural pathetic advice. She will also need post-surgical compressions wraps, creams, oils, mastectomy pillow, shower seat, massage, therapy, wigs, and various other things. As well as, travelling/ gas and hospital parking for treatments several times a week will all be very costly as you could imagine. Our mom has always been there to support our family through everything. This year it is all about her, it is time to be there more than ever and to support her through this all. Our mom is a fighter and she is such a positive, optimistic person, we know she will beat this again. Surgery is fast approaching, waiting on a date any day now. Our mom has a fantastic medical team behind her.

We are reaching out to our community to try and help our mom get through this. It would be a huge help for her and take some stress off of our family's back that she has all of the necessitates and support she needs in order to kick cancers butt, yet again. We really appreciate everyone who has been there for our family, the kind messages and prayers. Heading into 2024 will be a struggle, but we know we will have our family and friends to be there for us. All funds will go directly to medical costs. Thank you so much.
