Hunters Road to Recovery
In October 2020, Hunter started having numbness in the left side of his face. The numbness then started spreading all over the left side of his body. His head, arm, chest, back and then leg all started going numb. He had two trips to the local emergency room which came with no results of the problem. He then started having weakness. He couldn't make his left hand close or his left leg walk like normal. We managed to get in to see a neurologist at Texas Children's Hospital on December 15th. The Doctor ordered a MRI at the main hospital in Houston. On Monday December 20th, we got the call...they had found what appeared to be a tumor deep inside his brain. We were told to get him back to the emergency room in Houston ASAP. After another MRI, with contrast that night to get a better view, we were told it would need to be removed. On Tuesday the 22nd, Hunter underwent brain a 10 hour surgery to remove as much of the tumor as safely possible. He was then sent to PICU for 2 days then moved to a regular room. We are still awaiting the biopsy results which should be in December 28th or 29th in order to determine if the tumor is benign or cancerous. For now, Hunter has to do physical and occupational therapy to retrain himself for basic things such as walking and eating. This is going to be a very long recovery road and even longer depending on the biopsy results. With a Mother out of a job and a father working vigorously to make ends meet, your donations will mean the world to this Family and will be extremely appreciated!
