Dick Plough Medical Fund

I am raising money for my dad and mom, Dick and Karen Plough. We recently received scary, unexpected news about my dad’s health. He has been diagnosed with End Stage Liver Cancer. He is currently seeking treatment to prolong his life but the doctors only gave him a year. That doesn’t mean we are giving up. We have an appointment with specialists at the Lacks Cancer Center this week about what course of treatment will be his best option. My dad is months away from retirement but this news has pushed that timeframe up because he is now unable to work. His health has taken a turn for the worst since May of 2019. He and my mom have been in and out of doctors offices looking for answers but it took a trip to the ER due to abnormal blood test results for those answers to come. The ER visit turned into a 6 day hospital stay with a CT scan and biopsy. The biopsy came back with our worst fear but, my dad is a very strong guy and will fight this thing tooth and nail. Anyone who has played ball with him or has had him for a baseball/softball coach, know how true this is. He has stayed positive about making the most of what time he has left and won’t give in to this illness. I wanted to make this fundraiser to help alleviate some of my parent’s anxiety about the medical bills and let him focus on fighting. They currently have a $6300 deductible to cover for the hospital stay. This is just the beginning. My brother, Bobby Plough, and I are helping as much as we can but the bills are going to pile up fast. My dad won’t be bringing in a paycheck every week and my mom will have to cut back her hours to help take care of him. More than any medical bills now, I am worried about my mom after my dad is gone. I want to do whatever I can to get her set up for whatever the future holds. If you have the means, we would greatly appreciate the help. We are also accepting prayers and good vibes!
