Anthony's Fight for Life

This little peach of a young man needs your help!

After being sent home from multiple doctor visits, it was finally discovered that Anthony had sepsis and had progressed so far that his body went into septic shock.

Clots formed around his heart and his urgent condition required him to be transported to Milwaukee Children's Hospital. He was rushed into emergency surgery there but his body was too weak to finish the surgery. Anthony is now in a medically induced coma, with the hope that his body can heal enough to go back into surgery. Even with a successful finish, he will likely still likely have organ damage and need additional medical treatments going forward. 

Anthony has been given a 30% chance at survival (with continued medical treatments, dialysis, and/or a kidney transplant) so this is just the beginning of his fight for life. He comes from a tough and resilient family, but he still needs YOU in his corner.

His situation is further complicated by the repercussions of the Coronavirus pandemic, meaning that the people who love him cannot visit or see him.

Anthony was the first great/grandchild in our family and it was a long while before the rest of us got around to having kids! I always remember watching Holly with him, hoping I would be the kind of Mom she was. That I would have a child as gentle and kind as Anthony.  Their bond has always been enviable, a kind of closeness that you could never quite put your finger one. Like they were the only ones in on a joke, in a room full of people. Connected. 

Anthony and his Mom deserve a fighting chance, the chance to focus on his healing and some hope, instead of mounting medical bills. So please, whatever you can spare, even if it is simply a prayer, it helps tremendously.
