Educational Support for Single Mom

Hello friends and family,

A collective group of friends are writing this for the benefit of helping a close friend who is struggling. Her situation is described below and we are hoping that you can help.

We want to keep her anonymous because she doesn’t know we are doing this. Thank you for putting your trust in us. We know that if we told her about this, she’d say no due to her pride and hard work ethic. However, her friends know that she’s truly deserving of a break in life.

Our friend is a mid life single mom and now a young grandma. She has raised her two kids on her own with little support from family for various reasons. She had a successful small home-based business, but most know what it takes to hustle for business, which takes a toll. A few years ago, she traded in her business to go back to school so she could provide a better life for her family and follow her passion of helping others. The risk in doing so would mean she would rely heavily on student loans for tuition and living supports. She entered university full time, while still hustling and working any shift she could. She did that for five solid years.

Everyone’s intention of going back to school is to come out with a better job or career. However, since graduating she’s been struggling in this economy to land that perfect job with decent pay and benefits. She works two jobs with non-profits to make ends meet and the tough economy is physically and emotionally crushing her. The kicker is she now needs to start paying back her student loan, which is astronomical. This is why we are reaching out. We’d love to collect a year’s worth of student loan payments for her, so she can continue to focus on obtaining that job she’s meant to have that will allow her to make a bigger impact in the lives of others. The work she does is selfless and low paid, but fulfilling as it can be transformational for those she helps to go down a more positive path in life.

Our goal is to raise $10,000 for her to put towards the next year of student loan payments. We are hoping you can support this goal in any way possible. No amount is too small. We are kindly asking you to help us support a truly deserving friend.
