Help George beat cancer

Hi everyone. George was diagnosed with a rare form of gastrointestinal cancer that spread to his bones. Stage 4. Back in July George started getting sciatic pains. He dealt with it and continued working almost everyday, thinking it was work wear and tear, getting old and working out and playing sports for so many years. Then in late October he woke up feeling like his left collarbone was broken. Couple days later his right shoulder started hurting. Again, George thinking “this is 40’s”. Eventually the left collarbone started growing a bump pretty fast and stomach aches started and that’s when this whole journey to figuring this out begins. I truly believe from the bottom of my heart that he can beat this. He’s beat so many other challenges in life. He is my shining light. He is everyone’s light and laughter. The other half to my heart. He’s the hand that’s on your shoulder when you’re down and cracks a one liner to get you to smile. Now it’s time we put our hand on his shoulder. I finally got him to agree to let me start this gofundme. I based the goal amount on research of what “cancer costs”. In under 2 months we have already dealt with countless doctor appointments, tests, consultations, transportation, a surgery and we haven’t even chipped away a piece of this giant iceberg yet. Health insurance hasn’t really been on our side and we are stuck in a grey area right now. Living expenses are about to start piling up. Surgeries, chemo, over night hospital stays, meds and more tests are already being scheduled and the bills are going to start adding up. George is physically in pain because of the bone tumors in his lower back, hips, pelvic region and shoulders which is making the doctors take work away, to their concern of his bones being so weak. For those of you that don’t know, George LOVES bartending and works almost every day and night behind a bar. For over 20 years he’s been putting smiles on everyone’s faces everywhere from local bars, to sports arenas, to nightclubs, to wedding venues, a handful of music venues and a staple to our Orange County Fair every year. So, for him to be forced to stop working he said “I’m going to pull my hair out before chemo does” (George’s sense of humor). My strong man that was taught by his hard working single mother, to never ask for favors and accomplish everything on his own is pretending to not be tired. Pretending not to be worried. Pretending he’s not in pain. All this while still trying to make us all laugh. But he needs us now. He needs all those favors he never asked for. He needs our hand. He needs every bar tip that you guys can graciously donate to get George back to his old self. Our goal is to get him to ring the bell posted in the photo above when this is all over. We will take all the good vibes and all the prayers. Do not forgot how head strong my guy is. He’s got this! Thank you for taking the time to read this and please share to all of George’s countless beloved customers, friends and loved ones near and far. -Jackie
