As you may be aware, Laurie has battled many health issues over the years. The last several months, she had been struggling with her failing kidney and very actively seeking a donor to try and avoid dialysis.
While going through all this, she became extremely ill and ended up with a blood clot which landed her in ICU at Brigham and Women's Hospital for three weeks. Laurie barely survived this ordeal having to have many surgeries including the removal of some organs. After six weeks in the hospital, she was finally released to rehab. While continuing to fight through this ordeal, she has now been put on dialysis and as recent as today had to have yet another surgery for ease of dialysis treatments.
Due to these serious health conditions that have been presented to Laurie, she is now unable to work and it's doubtful she ever will be able to return. We are seeking donations in any amount to help Laurie and Carlee get through this difficult time. Any donation you can contribute would be greatly appreciated no matter how small.
Our hope is that Laurie will not know about this until we can present her with a donation. We are also aware Laurie is a private and humble person.
This is something we are both very passionate about and are hoping to make a difference in Laurie's life. Sometimes you don't realize how fragile life is until you almost lose someone. We are extremely thankful Laurie is still in our lives and are desperately trying to make a difference in hers.
