Justice for Duke

Hi, thank you for viewing our appeal. My name is Stacey and I am hoping to raise funds to pay for the treatment that Duke needs as well as the basics of chipping & neutering. Our love of animals makes us want to give this boy the life he deserves.

Dukes Story.......

We were made aware of Duke over the Christmas period and agreed to go and scan him to see if he was chipped as he had just appeared a few weeks previous. We knew a lovely couple were providing food for him and roughly what time he arrived daily. After a few days of being out in the cold, wind, rain & dark we realised it would take weeks if not months to get this boy to trust us, it was then decided we would set up a cat trap. The couple who Duke visited kept an eye on the trap letting out the couple of other hungry cats that entered to eat the tuna fish left in there! He then wasnt seen for a few days, we were worried sick and losing hope. After being out again looking for him with no luck we returned home. Next thing the phone rang. Duke was in the trap!!! So we went straight back over & collected the little guy. He is now resting in a 5* foster room at our house. We are unsure when or why or who carried out this horrendous surgery as well as a possible acid-type attack on him but we now want to make sure Duke has the surgery he needs to improve his quality of life and his sight. He is unable to even shut one of his eyes as well as having an ulcer on it. We are pretty sure he will need his eye removed. He is such a sweet little boy who is very scared and we want to make sure he now has the best life he can and the treatment he needs.

We do believe Duke was mistreated and then dumped pretty much in the middle of nowhere. Duke isn't chipped or neutered so we can't trace any previous owner(s) and it hurts us tremendously to think that we will never know what happened to this poor boy. Now his future is in our hands and we want the very best for him.
