Fight with Mike!
That is what we are asking as my brother in law Mike Paine is faced with his recent diagnosis of a highly malignant Small Cell Carcinoma, with presentation of tumors on the prostate. Saddened by this sudden news, we are now focused on hope, love and prayers for healing.
Mike, loving husband to Regina, and amazing father to Grace and Elia, is such a strong part of his community. He is a friend to anyone who knows him, always lending a helping hand, a really cool guy and pretty funny too! He is coach to his daughters in Peninsula Youth softball, Master at the Masonic lodge of Point Loma, and ingrained in the communities at St. Charles Borromeo where Regina teaches, as well as his "married into" family of the Portuguese UPSES.
Mike has already started his chemotherapy treatment. He will undergo an aggressive program over the next 4 months hoping to get him into remission. Of course this has all come as such an unexpected shock to the family, and that is why we are here asking for your love and support. Mike is self employed and will not be able to work while he is undergoing these treatments.
The funds raised here will go towards offsetting the financial burden that the Paine family will have with only Regina's income.
Anticipated expenses include medical bills, procedures and prescription drugs that their medical insurance does not cover. Additionally, they will have expenses for care, including home care as needed, and other necessities for fighting the fight.
Mike and Regina have such great faith in God that Mike will be cared for, and are asking that you all please pray for them as well. That being said, I ask that you please consider making a donation by giving what you can to their beautiful family, and help them with Mike's fight against cancer. All of your generous donations are greatly appreciated.
