I’m going from a 44J (!!!) cup to hopefully a C/D cup on Monday, June 30th.

My breasts have always been large and I’m grateful that after years of advocacy it’s actually happening. I have pain in my shoulders and back daily, sometimes to the point where I have to lay down to get relief. Wearing a bra helps my back but kills my shoulders and going braless kills my back.

With such a drastic reduction, the surgeon has *strongly recommended* liposuction, which isn’t covered by our provincial medical plan.

The surgeon explained that lipo avoids having to extend the incision up into the armpit… which in my case she can’t even do because of the loose skin on my upper arms from drastic weight loss. It would make healing properly very challenging so she has said no to that method.

The cost for the lipo is $3990 (surgical fee)+ $840 (hospital fee), for a total of $4830.
