Hi! My name is August, and I'm a 29 year old transmasculine person.

I've been dealing with dysphoria related to my chest for a really long time, and feel that getting what's commonly referred to as "top surgery" would alleviate that, and allow me to live a happier and more complete life.

Unfortunately gender confirming surgeries can be quite expensive, and insurance doesn't always cover them. Which is where I find myself currently. I work very hard, and fill any excess hours on nights and weekends with as much illustration and graphic design freelance as I can book, but I am not in a place where I can afford surgery on my own.

The location that I'm researching and surgeon I hope to go with is The Gender Confirmation Center in San Francisco, with Dr. Scott Mosser. Surgery is listed at costing $10,000. I've only listed my fundraising goal at being $5,000, because I am going to try and save some of my own money, as well as look into other options, such as applying for grants that might help.

I know many other LGBT+ people are in the same financial boat I am in, and there are also so many other worthy causes to donate to, especially in this political and social climate, so don't feel any sort of pressure to donate! But if you're able to or want to, thank you so much, every little bit is helpful!

Thank you so much for taking the time to read this, and I hope that you have a great day!

-August
