Titan Vet Bills (Liberty K9 Rescue Ranch)

Beschermde donatie
Liberty K9 Rescue Ranch is a 501(c)(3).

When Titan was dropped off at The Ranch about a month ago, we noticed right away that something was "off" in his back end. He didn't seem to be in pain, and due to his fear-aggression at the time, we decided to just monitor.

One of the first things we noticed was a "clicking" when he would walk - we suspected his hips (possibly displaysia).

Fast forward to Titan's 3rd week here, he started having a lot more physical activity in his life. He was getting training sessions, play sessions, walks, etc. One day after going absolute wrecking ball in the crazy group, he started favoring his back, right, leg. Each day, he was putting more weight on it, so we thought it was improving.

Then, Sunday morning, when we came in, Titan's rear, right, leg was very swollen, and he didn't want to put much weight on it. Fortunately, our awesome vet (Moose Lake Veterinary Clinic ) squeezed us in yesterday so we could help make Titan more comfortable and figure out what's going on.

Turns out......

Titan has
TWO torn ACL's
Mild hip displaysia
Lyme's disease
and some sort of infection

Our vet said that it's likely that he's been this way for months - judging by how he uses (and doesn't use) his body. This could definitely explain some of Titan's issues. Our vet said that she actually thinks he's doing remarkably well for how much pain he must be in.

To say that we are livid for him is a total understatement. This poor dude has been dealing with all this pain, and these injuries and despite that - has still become a whole new dog while he's been with us. He has shown us how unbelievably sweet and goofy he is. To me, Titan has shown us how resilient he is.

Here's the extra bad part....

We've already spent $750 just on diagnosing his issues and a few meds. We were just quoted $4000/knee. To be honest, we don't even have $8k in our rescue account. As a VERY new and small rescue, we do not have these kinds of funds (not to mention the hundreds we spent last week unexpectedly on our puppies ).

Our vet says that if Titan's 2 knees are repaired, he will likely live a long/comfortable life.
After Titan has made SUCH tremendous progress with us, this is shattering our hearts.
We HATE asking the public for money - but we can't stand the thought of not being able to save Titan strictly due to financial constraints. This boy has a family lined up that is 110% committed to him after he's completed his training. Currently, our only option is to make a please for help.

We aren't asking you not to pay your bills for a dog you don't know... but even $5 helps if you can spare it!

We also have our huge garage sale this weekend that we hope will help us raise some funds so we can save Titan.

The vet has an opening ⏳️ 4/3 ⏳️ to do Titan's worst knee. We penciled him in with the hope that we'll have enough funds to at least cover the cost of his first knee by then. He'll have several weeks of recovery after that that will allow us to do some more fundraising (and collect some adoption fees). Hopefully, by the time he's ready for his 2nd surgery, we'll have the funds available.

This guy has such a special place in my heart. Please consider donating if you are able. He deserves to have a pain-free and fulfilled life!

Side note - Titan was SOOOO good at the vet. I was so proud of him.
