Just four days after celebrating his 53rd Birthday Sanjay was diagnosed with Stage 4 colon and a rare type of appendix cancer (Perforated Appendiceal Mucinous Cancer). 

What started off as a typical Saturday morning, ended in a moment we will never forget. Our lives in an instant was forever changed. To say it was a 'surprise' is a massive understatement. I will never forget that feeling of despair and helplessness. As we try to put it all in perspective, stay upbeat and positive and focus on his recovery, the reality of the situation is never far from our minds.

Sanjay’s journey to recovery will be extensive, full of ups and downs with the added effects of chemo. There is not a vast number of cases or research for this type of cancer. Dr. Google is definitely not the route to help determine the ideal treatment plan or guarantee outcomes.  

He faces a long road ahead with an abundance of faith and hope that he will beat this. His faith and positive spirit will help him embrace the weeks to come. He is lucky to have a lot of loved ones cheering him on, as well as dedicated doctors invested in his recovery.
