"In July it will be 7 yrs since this journey began. I've had four tumor surgeries, a surgery where they removed a quarter of my left lung, 6-8 biopsy surgeries, 7 weeks of radiation(35 treatments), and 4 treatments of chemotherapy. Also at least 8 pet scans and numerous c-t scans, mri, and ultra sounds. The road has had alot of bumps along the way but also some very happy times in those 7 years. I've been given 5 grandkids in that time: Gavin, Samantha, Annie, Gidget, and Bailey. That group and the other four (Amelie, Madison, Will and Orin) have made me the happiest person on earth. I've also watched 5 people leave this earth and entered the Kingdom of Heaven:Two sisters, Joanne, Sister Mary Joan, my Mom, nephew Darcy Andersen, and a close friend Paul Johnson.I want to thank Mary's and my kids and their spouses and all of you for walking with me as my journey moves on. Once again thank you all for all your Love, Support, and Prayers. I am truly grateful." --John
John is gearing up to once again kick cancer to the curb. He will be doing a 7 week treatment at Mayo where he will undergo a specialized treatment called Proton Radiation 5 days a week, along with 7 weekly doses of chemo.
John will be able to stay at Hope Lodge during treatments, but there is waiting list that doesn't take effect until the start of treatment. That means he and his wife Mary will have to stay in hotels for up to two weeks for this trip alone, not to mention the numerous trips they've already had to make.
Money raised in this Go Fund Me Account will help cover some of the living costs as John and Mary prepare for treatment in Rochester.
He asks for continued prayers as the next couple months will be the most difficult months of his life. He's a fighter and knows his life is in Gods hands.
