Josh has recently had his 3rd surgery for Crohn's disease, and had to take time off from work to recover. Unfortunately, he wasn't entitled to any benefits or financial support during this time, and had to self-fund, eating into his savings.

With Crohn's, even with surgery there are often flare-ups, meaning again that he has to take time from work to rest and recover.

My dad went through the same thing 5 years ago, and a bunch of his mates and the community around him set up a donation so that he didn't have to stress about finances while he recovered properly. I want to offer the same support to Josh, who is a sterling guy and deserves all the support he can get.

It's difficult enough living with Crohn's, and people shouldn't have to take on debt that affects their financial wellbeing just to get better, it's too easy for it to become a vicious cycle of stress and suffering. I'm a big believer in community and looking after those in need, you never know if it'll be you that needs help next.
