On February 6th, 2019, Dick Oman was in a small plane when it crashed on final approach into Aurora, Oregon. He sustained extensive non-life threatening injuries to his feet, chest, and neck. 

Dick spent two weeks in the hospital while doctors stabilized injuries and performed a few operations to repair badly broken bones. He was transferred to a rehabilitation center for another two weeks where he began occupational and physical therapies while allowing his bones to heal. His insurance does cover some of the costs, though, he is looking at a long road to recovery at  his own expense while being out of work. Our goal is to help raise money that will assist he and his family by offsetting these major medical expenses and lost income. 
  
Dick is a much loved and respected pilot in our community.  He has spent the past decade sharing his passion for aviation as a flight instructor and commercial pilot both independently and as part of Willamette Aviation based out of KUAO and South of Portland, Oregon. Dick trains new and experienced pilots to earn their various certificates and ratings, and improve their skills. Aviation has been a second career for Dick. He has dedicated himself to full-time flight instruction and is a great resource to our flying community in the Pacific Northwest. 

Contributions will be used toward expenses not covered by insurance while in recovery.
