Long recovery ahead

Hi my name is Teresa on August 2nd my sister in-law Katee suffered a stroke and is currently in the Hospital, she is coherent but is suffering paralysis in the left of her body and cannot move un-assisted.

Doctors believe a long recovery time is ahead of her, but the next 3-4 months will be the most difficult for her physically, emotionally and financially because Katee and my brother James have three children under 3 years of age( August who will be 3 this month, and Twin boys Parker and Kayden who are 4 months old).Having 3 children under 3 is a full time job at any point in your life, but add suffering a debilitating medical issue and it becomes a mountain.

My brother James is the sole provider for the family and cannot take time off work due the recent birth of their twin boys.Katee will not be able to take care of the 3 children while James is working to provide for the family. We are asking for help in hiring someone to come help Katee with the children while James is at work. Doctors are expecting a recovery time of a year but next 3-4 months are the most crucial and it’s expected to cost around $2000- $3000 a month for someone to come help with the children.We were asking for $10,000 but, due to the generosity of family members we are able to bring this down to $6500. This will also help cover medical expenses accruing for any and all at home care she requires such as in home physical therapy, in home occupational therapy, and in home nursing care.
