Hi, this is our (myself & kids) baby and he's been our family for 13 years. He's had a rough couple of weeks. Our sweet boy got a bad cough. I called our vet & they booted us because we haven't seen him in a year. No one could and or would see him so I did a video conference with Smart Vet. Then he had to be taken to the emergency vet in London for cluster seizures a cpl days later. We were told she heard something in his chest and all signs point to an infection. As for the seizure, process of elimation starts after seeing how the meds work. He just finished his amox and is still on his seizure meds which I think need to be lowered. He now has green goop coming from his nose and on his eyes. His eyes are also super dry and red. I've always bought him Optixcare as advised by our previous vet, it's not working. He finished his amox the day before yesterday. I think after 10 days he should be coming along better than he is. He needs this appt. I've used all I have, over $1300. We have never asked for help like this before. We just need enough to be able to pay for his follow up appt. We're not looking for a ton of money. We just secured a spot in town that has accepted him (St. Thomas Animal Clinic on Princess Ave) as a new patient and the earliest they can see him is June 2nd. I booked that appt but don't know if I can keep it, after paying rent, I'm not gonna have much left. If we can't make the June 2nd appt he won't be seen until the end of June. He can't wait that long. So I'm reaching out to the wonderful community of St Thomas!
I can provide everything so you know this is not a scam, receipts of the vet, bank showing the Smart Vet amounts, his meds everything. He's also on a special diet and is only eating my chicken soup right now. When he can eat he's got a super upset tummy from the meds. Please, anything helps, anything. We just need enough for the check up, and possible new meds, like more amoxicillin and eye drops and maybe some blood work. The emergency vet said blood work can tell them a lot more. The only reason I didn't do it there because it was too expensive, almost $450 and the bill was almost $550 already. They told me a non emergency vet would be much cheaper.
Sir Gusington is family, we know he can get better. We need a second opinion on everything and need this follow up appt with his new vet. To those who took the time to read, it's super appreciated, thank you ❤
