Many of us have benefitted from Christine’s friendship and wisdom over the years. She is a loved and trusted friend, teacher, mother, wife and most adored grandmother.

A few months ago, Christine was diagnosed with Multiple Myeloma. She’s been undergoing treatment at Mass General Cancer Center and is working diligently to overcome this illness. In correlation with her medical treatment, she is on a very specific diet that comes with extra costs.

Multiple Myeloma is a cancer of the plasma cells in the bone marrow. Among other things, it causes bones to weaken and become more susceptible to injury. Most recently, Christine had a bad fall and broke her right arm. She is in a fair amount of pain and discomfort which limits her physical abilities. At this time, she is unable to cook, work in her garden and do all the regular things that bring her joy.

What is most needed at this time are funds to help offset the costs of Christine’s medical co-pays, dietary needs and all that comes along with a serious illness. What a relief it would be for Christine and her family to not have to be concerned about these monetary details as she confronts her illness. Christine is incredibly humble and so grateful for all the help she’s been given so far, and she would never ask for more. So, I am asking for her, so that she can focus solely on her health and recovery.
