I was managing to hold my debt in check and make good financial decisions, until I was struck by every American's worst nightmare: medical emergency. I became very sick for months, requiring multiple tests, doctor visits, two ER trips and an ambulance ride. After months of that, I finally got a diagnosis: I needed to have my gallbladder removed. So on top of everything else, I now have surgical costs, too. Every year, medical bills cause 66.5% of bankruptcies filed in the USA, and I desperately do not want to be among them; it will absolutely wreck my life. I really need help right now, and I'm grateful to anyone who can chip in!
