Hi my name is Charlene and I live in the UK.
I have like many sat and watched devastation take over a beautiful island. Hurricane Melissa, which became a category 5 storm has ruined lives. Watching everything just go like that. This made me shed a tear. If you have been to Jamaica there’s nothing but pure community love. The island boasts beautiful scenery, full of culture and vibrant people.
I was thinking how to help some of the people in need and have been taken back with the efforts of celebrities of Jamaica and across the world along with emergency aids from differing countries and their tremendous generosity. I can say that my in laws house and community was not badly affected. But places like St Elizabeth, WestMoreland, Trelawny and Hanover have taken a big hit.
I have decided to raise money to purchase nappies, sanitary wear, toiletries to people in the affected parishes.
We need to remember that people have their land and belongings, so they do not want to be relocated away from this.
The road to recovery is going to be long. But Jamaica will get through this. They say “Wi likkle but we Tallawah.
I would appreciate you lovely people for any donation.
kind regards
