Anyone who knows Ella knows she is a spunky little girl who loves Frozen and has no problem keeping up with her two older brothers. To everyone's surprise, Ella was diagnosed with Neuroblastoma on May 23rd. It was a shock as one week she had a fever, and the next she was being taken in ambulance to Children's Medical Center Dallas. Ella has already undergone a lymph node biopsy, CT scan, blood transfusion, PET scan, bone marrow biopsy, and started her first of many chemo treatments, all just within a few days. As you can imagine, medical expenses are piling up and will continue to do so. Please be praying for sweet Ella and her family. If you feel so inclined, please consider making a donation at your discretion to help ease Abby and Aaron's financial burden as they are giving all of their focus to Ella and her care. Thanks for your support in any way possible.
UPDATE 2/5/21
(from Abby and Aaron)
Friends, Ella’s scans show that the cancer has come back aggressively. We were informed that when this form of neuroblastoma returns in this particular way, the prognosis is not good. Though we are choosing to start treatment again, it is not promising. We are working with Make a Wish foundation to have a few days away together before we try her first round of a chemo/immunotherapy combo. Treatment will be inpatient for one week, home for two, and we can go through that cycle for up to a year. We will do scans again in 6 weeks to see if it’s working. There are severe risks of doing this type of treatment with her platelets already dangerously low. However, we don’t know how to stop moving forward to fight for more days for Ella.
It’s our desire to be as real and honest as possible as we share Ella’s story with you and we hope if you have followed along this far, you know that we believe in a good God. We believe He is capable of healing Ella now and we trust in His plan for her and our family, regardless. It doesn’t make this moment less painful but it gives us great hope. Hope for more days spent together here but more, an assurance of everlasting life with God in heaven. We are praying for Him to be near, we are praying Ella would be healed, we are praying for strength and wisdom, we are praying He would be known through it all. We are so thankful for your love and prayers.

The TEAM ELLA Go Fund Me page is being reactivated due to the amazing and overwhelming requests of the Pierson's supporters to have an outlet to show their love and continued support. Some of you know the Piersons well, and some of you have never met, but nonetheless, you've been moved by sweet Ella's story and bravery. Your desire to walk this journey alongside them is inspiring and appreciated. The Go Fund Me automatically sets at the goal of the original Go Fund Me ($75,000) in order to reactivate the link. There is not a final financial end goal here, but we want to have a place to show tangible support, if you feel so moved to do so. Thank you for your continued prayers, love, and support on behalf of the Pierson family.
"We wait in hope for the Lord; he is our help and our shield. In him our hearts rejoice for we trust in his holy name. May your unfailing love be with us, Lord, even as we put our hope in you."
