Hi my name is Larry and I was diagnosed on February 10th with MDS. I am currently receiving blood transfusions two times a week at Princess Margaret Hospital until a bone marrow donor is found. Although this treatment leaves me weak and with very little energy I am unable to work so my day is spent resting and not over exerting myself. I am keeping a positive attitude and know eventually a donor will be found but this is where the unknown comes in. It could take another month or two. After the transplant it will take another 6 to 12 months to recover. And this is where you come in as I am asking if you could help me fight this battle together. Any help would be gratefully appreciated and help alleviate future stress and anxiety with food and rent. I will be forever grateful. Edit the bone marrow transplant has been postponed for at least 4 weeks while they deal with a small infection in my prostate. Once I get the all clear they will resume the transplant.
