Family and friends,
The long hours I have put into my improvement at my instrument over the last 4-5 years have paid off! I have been granted the honor of being accepted into the 2016 Cadets percussion section this year as a vibraphone player. For those of you who don't know, the Cadets are a World Class drum & bugle corps based in Allentown, PA, and have won 10 distinct DCI championship titles. They are considered top-notch in the marching music world, and are a group that musicians across the country, and even across the globe, aspire to be a part of.
My summer with the Cadets will begin when I move in with the corps on May 17th to begin my spring training, and will continue all the way into mid-August as I embark on my 2016 tour across the country. During this time, I will spend each day rehearsing (sometimes for over 12 hours) and performing in football stadiums all over the nation. This year, I will also have the opportunity to perform at Tanglewood among countless other dedicated musicians, and I couldn't be more grateful!
To me this is a dream come true, but the work isn't over for me yet. In order for me to be able to participate in this activity this summer, I have to pay fees that cover the costs of food, gas, housing, uniforms, and staffing for the time I spend with the corps. Ideally, I will also be able to raise a little extra in order to cover miscellaneous costs for everyday things like new sneakers and a member jacket. I am currently working three jobs in order to cover these costs, but the financial burden is cumbersome, and I am in need of donations in order to offset this financial demand.
I will need to raise this money in full by May 1st. Every little bit helps! Help me live my dream this summer!
