Please, Help our Dad come home
Donation protected
Dear Family and Friends,
For those of you who may not know, our dad, Roeder, has been at Memorial Health Hospital Center in Savannah, GA after having a massive stroke on December 14th, 2021. They will hopefully be releasing him soon to an inpatient rehab facility OR a nursing home in Savannah to help further his progress toward recovering some of what he’s lost. Unfortunately, his insurer (Humana Advantage) will only pay for a few weeks of his stay at any location.
We’re reaching out to see if you might be willing to help us bring him home after his inpatient stay ends. We’re determined to do so, and are planning on doing everything possible to make it happen, but we are going to need help to supply him with a bunch of things that his insurance will not cover including modifications to the house that will comply with handicap and immediate fire code regulations – a stair and/or porch lift – as well as bathroom and bedroom alterations to accommodate him. His insurance only partially covers the costs of additional physical therapy/rehab, a wheelchair, bed, bed lift, medical equipment, supplies, etc., and we are in the process of investigating whatever state and federal funding or aid might be available but are being told that he may or not qualify, also, current demand is high, and such requests take time. Regardless, the need to complete the necessary renovations and purchase the medical equipment remains urgent. We would greatly appreciate any immediate financial help that you can give on his behalf.
Sincerely with much love to all,
Lauri Kinkel, Katie Kinkel, Ali Augsburger, and Philip Kinkel
