Hi everyone,
So I wanted to start a project in Jerry‘s honor, but I struggled to figure out what it would be. As many of you know I became a widow on October 22, 2020. I’ve joined many support groups, and I’ve realized how lucky my family has been in this whole process. Many young parents, who lose their spouse, do not have life insurance, Social Security benefits, or other help during the holiday season. People I’ve come to know on these sites struggle to provide for their families, and the presents under the tree are minuscule or non existent for many of them.
Last year Jerry‘s death was so new that if we hadn’t taken out life insurance before his death I would have likely struggled at Christmas. So this Christmas, despite knowing that everyone is being asked for money left and right, I’m asking if you would take this opportunity to donate to Hope for the Holidays to support widows/widowers who are struggling. If you donate with your name attached to the Gofundme I will let you know what was bought with your contribution. Any amount will be so appreciated and a blessing for those who are selected. I would like to make this an annual tradition in order to provide support to the families impacted by the loss of a parent. God bless you all and merry Christmas.
Love,
Jess
P.s. this week I will be picking the families that will be receiving items from their Amazon wish list, so please consider contributing before the 20th so that the families will get their items in time to wrap them (sorry for the last minute nature of this)
