Fight Cancer Like a Boss

On May 26, 2023 Boston Eckler was diagnosed with B-Cell Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia (B-ALL). On Thursday, May 25th, Boston had discomfort in his calves, which migrated to his left hip. Parents quickly got him into his pediatrician who ran a number of blood tests. The next day his hip pain intensified and spread to his right hip making it very difficult to walk. At the onset of this new symptom Andrea and Timon took him to Riley Children's Hospital, where it was confirmed that he has B-Cell Acute Leukemia.
B-Cell Acute Leukemia is an aggressive type of leukemia (blood cancer) in which too many B-cell lymphoblasts (immature white blood cells) are found in the bone marrow and blood. It is the most common type of acute lymphoblastic leukemia (ALL).
On the morning of Saturday, May 27th, Boston underwent surgery for a bone marrow biopsy, spinal fluid tap, and the insertion of a port to help with medication, blood draws, and chemotherapy. The next 29 days will be crucial in his treatment as doctors will be administering medication to destroy the cancer cells. The prognosis of this cancer type and treatment have been extremely successful and doctors are hopeful that on Day 29 it will give a better outlook on how treatment will be planned for the next 2 years. HOWEVER, he will still be undergoing chemo treatments throughout every month for the next 2 years. This fight is FAR from being over anytime soon.
The next year will be filled with many doctors appointments, outpatient chemotherapy, and discomfort for little Boss. We NEED your help! To financially assist with medical costs and any other potential needs that may arise, we have created this GoFundMe page for anyone who would like to donate in support of the family.
The Eckler Family is exceptionally fortunate to have an amazing network of family and friends who are planning a countless number of other ways to support them during this difficult time. For more information on ways to help, please visit any of the following links:
