On February 20, 4:30pm, I was robbed at gun point. My $30k camera was taken from me and my other gear along with it. It all happened so quick... in less than a minute. I finished shooting a music video at Red Wall Studios, San Jose, for a client and I put everything away as usual. As I was packing everything in my trunk I saw a man coming towards me. The man approached my clients, and as my back was towards him they talked for a moment. Before i knew it, he had a gun pointed to my head. When I looked back, I saw everyone else run inside the studio. I had to keep a level head because I knew my friend Aaron was inside without a clue of what was happening. Honestly, I was more angry at my clients running away and leaving me behind. The guy hit me in the jaw then pinned down and that’s when he demanded to open the trunk. I calmly told him it was unlocked and that’s when I felt him strike me again. He smashed my face against pavement, and as blood dripped down my face I honestly thought my life was over. I prayed to God to forgive me for all my sins and let me in his kingdom.

Then suddenly I found strength to get myself up. I felt that he was gone, and I ran to the door to be let in but no one opened it. It truly felt like I was in Junior’s shoes as he was seeking for help in the streets of New York... Not knowing what else to do, I got into my car and drove around trying to find this man with my camera...to no avail. I called the cops after that, and they took my statements. And now we’re here. I’m still glad that I’m alive right now, and that my Aaron and everyone else inside was safe. That for sure is more important than $30k. I’m happy with the fact that everyone, including myself, are still able to spend another day with their loved ones.

Here’s the part I don’t like, because I’m not one to beg. I’m left with nothing, because my clients refuse to pay me for the gig and I lost $30k and more so. I have to get medical and dental work done for my teeth, and hopefully get a new RED Camera to continue right where I left off.... Shooting music videos has allowed me to travel and meet so many amazing individuals. I’m even more fluent in Spanish than I was before because of all the Latin artists I’ve worked with. I’ve worked alongside amazing directors in the Latin industry and so many other talents who were so kind to me. I’ve also shot many weddings and was part of a Christian feature film a couple years ago.

I’m currently working on my first script and I’m hoping to start production in 2021-22, but this is a major set back. As I mentioned before, I have never begged anyone for anything. I enjoyed the work I’ve made up until this moment , but now that this happened all of that work was thrown away.

If you all can find it in your heart to donate some money, at the least $5, I would appreciate it. If not it’s okay. It will be really hard saving up for a $30k camera all by myself again, so I must say thank you to all the people who will help donate and contribute to re-building my career. Here’s to rising from the ashes.
