PLEASE READ!!!!
help us help Rebecca raise this money for her beautiful daughter Edie- Anne. Below is a message from Rebecca telling her story.

For those of you that don't know our edie-anne on the 6/3/22, I called an ambulance because edie woke up in the morning couldn't move and was very sleepy. She then got took to royal devon Exeter Hospital where she was examined and it revealed a dense right sided hemiplegia, CT and MRI of the head confirmed a large left side MCA infarct. My beautiful healthy baby girl had had a massive life changing stroke she was only 18months old.
She was then transfered Bristol children's intensive care unit under the care of the watch team.
Having been discussed with all the specialists the stroke was thought to be secondary to a dissection to the left internal artery of the neck . In Exeter edies haemoglobin was 40g/l and she relieved 2 blood transfusions and was put on iron supplement.
Edie suffered seizures and was put on medication for this and luckily they stopped.
Edie is and remains at risk of stroke due to the weakness of the arterie and is on asprine for life.
Edie and I spent 5 months In Bristol hospital where she received intense therapies to re-learn as much as she can.
A year on we are out of hospital and unfortunately edie is now disabled and has Complex Needs.
One of her needs is communication and edie really really struggles with this as this is the part in her brain that died. Edie gets very frustrated with this and ends up pinching, smacking, biting etc to get attention or in frustration
Edie has multiple professionals involved and through them we have been adived on a app that runs through a ipad to assist with edies communication called simple AAC. This will be edies voice and crutch to be able to speak . Edie also has many other struggles with her mobility, loss of use of her right arm, concentration and attention of a 6-9 month old baby and developmentally at 22 month's she's is 3 in August. She really struggles with fatigue too and needs regular rests. Normal tast for edie are very tiring and can be very frustrating for her.
I would really like to ask for help to raise koneynto be able tonoay for edie-annes ipad, case and app as unfortunately they are very expensive. Have tried multiple charities with edies complex needs worker but unfortunately cannot help us.
I am a single mum of 3 and can't work now as I am a full time carer for edie and she relies on me so much more now.
I also would like ro raise money for any extra therapies she may need to help with her recovery as the NHS can't help her any more as she has used up alm of her "free" sessions. I wouldn't normally ask people for help but as you can imagine as a mum I really want to be able to give her all the assistance she needs to be able to communicate and use her right arm again and to help with her concerntration. I just want her to be happy as possible given her rubbish start and to be able to givs her the best recovery she possible can and unfortunately this all costs money.
Thank you to everyone who took the time out to read edies story and thank you for your help
